Down the Road
  • Down the Road

Quite often my paintings are influenced by the music that I’ve been listening to or, more accurately a song that popped into my head whist painting, which I then find and listen to. I love it when that kind of inspiration comes. It’s then that the paintings really flow very easily and have authentic context for me.
This one is named after The Stones 1971 "Moonlight Mile".

"The sound of strangers sending nothing to my mind
Just another mad, mad day on the road
I am just living to be lying by your side
But I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road"

It’s an interesting connection between music and painting. I find one inspires the other and vice versa. The next song that’s in my head is La Bamba so that’s going to be interesting.! Watch this space!
