The Printworks print 3 - Cardigan to Poppit
  • The Printworks print 3 - Cardigan to Poppit

In 2023 I was asked to paint a large format triptych for Yr Hen Printwords, Cardigan,  a Michelin-listed restaurant. The work was completed and hung in March 2024.

The paintings feature the people and places that make the Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coasts around the Teifi Valley so special.

Print 1 - Mwnt to Aberfeifi

Print 2 - Aberteifi and the Teifi Valley

Print 3 - Aberteifi to Poppit

Limited edition prints of these paintings, professionally printed on Hahnemühle archival paper using the finest quality archival inks are now available for you to have on your wall.

If you're interested in the painting process you can see a short film and read about the making of these paintings in a recent blog post here.

      PAPER & INK

We mostly use Hahnemühle archival quality Hemp paper, 290gsm.

Hemp is a resource saving plant whose robust and long-lasting fibres have been a part of paper production for centuries, most notably used for the Gutenberg Bible and US Declaration of Independence. The hemp cotton blend results in a natural white tone and the subtle surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Colour and detail are reproduced brilliantly on this versatile paper. Hemp is acid free, lignin free and free from OBAs. The inks used are Epson Ultrachrome lightfast inks.

      ARTSURE SCHEME

ArtSure is a print assurance scheme developed and maintained by the Fine Art Trade Guild, they have certified a wide range of papers and printers to make it easy for print studios, artists and publishers to promote the quality of prints they produce and sell. All the papers and canvas we print on have been approved by the Fine Art Trade Guild under their ArtSure scheme and as a result, we include the ArtSure logo on our certificates.

      ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

We use industry-leading environmental standards with our printing, framing and packaging. From sustainable papers and materials, to recyclable and largely plastic-free packaging, we work conscientiously to offer a carbon-neutral product.
