This is the painting, now finished, that sparked the idea of a year of exploring mixed media floral paintings. Something in it excited me and I anted to play more.  I've always loved the Fauvist painters, and the work of Scottish colourist Samuel Peploe.  These paintings start with my love of these works, which were all in oils, and take the ideas further in mexied media - acrylic, pastel, watercolour.
