Today I was feeling stuck in my new business venture ... unconfident and bogged down.

My role is to help you by making creativity and art simpler.
Each week, I distil the creative and painting process down to its core, working on demonstration paintings and responding to the group's questions.

In a world that is becoming more complex and serious by the minute, this method of teaching releases pressure on people's minds .... and resources. You don't need experience, and you don't need expensive materials.

It's a small group limited to just ten, with a focus on individual support, community and connection through these winter weeks.

Hey friends, I just wanted to run something by you before I commit to a booking.

I’ve been offered a hall in Newcastle Emlyn here in West Wales to hold a painting class in the afternoon on Saturday, the 5th of December and Saturday 12th of December.

I’m thinking just 3 hours each time- come to one or both - and have tea and cake and paint along with me. Everybody will have a canvas and paints provided and just follow along with what I’m painting and take home a picture!

Sounds like fun?? if you would be interested could you let me know? Just so I can judge interest before I commit to booking the hall.

It’ll be a bit like the Paint and Prosecco evenings that I do, but without the Prosecco, it’ll be more tea and cake. So it will suitable for groups (office party with a twist anyone?) and people who just want to have a go at painting.

Day 2 of my free Half Term Happiness painting workshop videos for children - and grown ups who want to play.

These videos were filmed for primary school age during lockdown in 2020 - but many grown-ups have said they have enjoyed and found them useful, so go ahead and channel that inner child and have some fun!

Materials - cardboard or paper, crayons, paints... nothing fancy what ever you have to hand.

These are very amateur videos - please don't expect high quality, or even any, editing, but they are from the heart and I hope they will encourage anyone watching to pick up some paint and have a go.

The good news today is that a recent study by Dr Woods (Kings College)found that:

“From a scientific perspective, the most exciting out-take is that art had a positive impact on three different body systems – the immune, endocrine and autonomic systems – at the same time. This is a unique finding and something we were genuinely surprised to see.“

So there you have it! feeling good is not rocket science. Take a walk, get some coffee, talk to a friend, and go see some Art.

Most art galleries are free to go and see.

Remember yesterday’s dog vote question?

Well, they got in and the painting got finished and it got delivered to the lovely Jess at Oriel Cardi Bach in Cardigan West Wales.

Albert and I then went to deliver the new leaflets to @Crwst at Poppit had some tea English coffee from them and got a walk on the beach.

That’s what I call a beautiful day!

…. Connecting with people who fall in love with a painting.

Here I am in my studio painting away getting inspiration putting it onto canvas - calling it finished - even though I feel it never is. And then maybe a week later maybe a month later maybe a year later it’ll be 10 years later. Someone sees that painting and wants in their life.

The thrill of this connection is indescribable, it completes the creative circle.

Some days are really extra special like today. ✨🎨🥰 I sold not one but two of these beautiful little Dog Star paintings, to separate people and separate parts of the country.

So where I wonder is the new owner for the third one? This little guy on the end with the star between his tail and his nose, is looking for his forever home.
It’s acrylic on canvas, 27 x 27 cm framed and it’s yours for £295. International postage not a problem.

A great opportunity to order more - and I thought this time it would be nice to have a full feature of RNLI Poppit on the front for folks to pick up and keep.

It's certainly been interesting weather for surfing the last few days in West Wales. Tucked up in the comfort of my studio this is how I like to imagine it 🎨😊😂

I often think about the realities we create with minds. It’s always a very interesting thought to me.

My background is in psychology and it always fascinates me the crossover between how we create our art and how we create our lives.
