Hello lovlies - a little introduction and a special welcome if you are new here.

I’m an artist, a business owner, a mentor, and a woman who has rebuilt her life from the inside out.
By choice, I live in rural West Wales, close to the sea and the quiet — two things that taught me how to breathe again.

My path here wasn’t clean or glamorous.
I originally trained in psychology, then spent years working for the Home Office, trying to fit myself into a life that looked respectable but felt entirely wrong in my body.

Eventually, the truth caught up with me.
I became seriously ill.
Three weeks in hospital.
Two years slowly building myself back together... into who I knew to be the real me.

It wasn’t pretty.
But it was honest.
And it showed me what I had been refusing to see:
I was a creative woman forcing myself into a 9–5 box that was never meant for me.

So I let it all go — the managerial role, a good salary, the pension, the identity people understood — and I chose the thing that had been waiting for me all along: creativity.

It was messy, and brave, and the most right thing I have ever done.

Now, I paint from my home studio and gallery, where visitors are welcome by appointment. I spend my days dog walking, loving life, painting, and connecting with other artists.

Alongside my painting, I help other artists grow their skills and businesses, blending my passion for creativity with personal development.
I have had the privilege of women joining my spaces who were talented but self-doubting.
Women who had something inside them they couldn’t quite reach yet.
Women who just needed someone to see them clearly and remind them of what was already there.

I’ve watched them build their creative practices, their businesses, their confidence, their sense of self.

And every time, something in me lights up.

That’s still where I find my purpose.

The 5 week Winter term of The Art Class starts November 12th.

It's live online each Wednesday evening and is recorded for catch up.

My role is to help you by making creativity and art simpler.
Each week, I distil the creative and painting process down to its core, working on demonstration paintings and responding to the group's questions.

In a world that is becoming more complex and serious by the minute, this method of teaching releases pressure on people's minds .... and resources. You don't need experience, and you don't need expensive materials.

It's a small group limited to just ten, with a focus on individual support, community and connection through these winter weeks.

Places are filling up so please don't delay. Come take your seat and find your place with us, you are so welcome.

This week I’ve been sending out an email with a link each day to one of my children’s art workshops.

It was delightful to wake up this morning to this feedback.

Today’s the last day of half term for most of us and I’ll be sending out a final email today with a link to another workshop for children (but I do know that some adults have been enjoying these as well and why not!)

This week I’ve been sending out an email with a link each day to one of my children’s art workshops.

It was delightful to wake up this morning to this feedback.

Today’s the last day of half term for most of us and I’ll be sending out a final email today with a link to another workshop for children (but I do know that some adults have been enjoying these as well and why not!)

Hey friends, I just wanted to run something by you before I commit to a booking.

I’ve been offered a hall in Newcastle Emlyn here in West Wales to hold a painting class in the afternoon on Saturday, the 5th of December and Saturday 12th of December.

I’m thinking just 3 hours each time- come to one or both - and have tea and cake and paint along with me. Everybody will have a canvas and paints provided and just follow along with what I’m painting and take home a picture!

Sounds like fun?? if you would be interested could you let me know? Just so I can judge interest before I commit to booking the hall.

It’ll be a bit like the Paint and Prosecco evenings that I do, but without the Prosecco, it’ll be more tea and cake. So it will suitable for groups (office party with a twist anyone?) and people who just want to have a go at painting.

Day 2 of my free Half Term Happiness painting workshop videos for children - and grown ups who want to play.

These videos were filmed for primary school age during lockdown in 2020 - but many grown-ups have said they have enjoyed and found them useful, so go ahead and channel that inner child and have some fun!

Materials - cardboard or paper, crayons, paints... nothing fancy what ever you have to hand.

These are very amateur videos - please don't expect high quality, or even any, editing, but they are from the heart and I hope they will encourage anyone watching to pick up some paint and have a go.

The good news today is that a recent study by Dr Woods (Kings College)found that:

“From a scientific perspective, the most exciting out-take is that art had a positive impact on three different body systems – the immune, endocrine and autonomic systems – at the same time. This is a unique finding and something we were genuinely surprised to see.“

So there you have it! feeling good is not rocket science. Take a walk, get some coffee, talk to a friend, and go see some Art.

Most art galleries are free to go and see.
This one of mine is on show @oriel_cardi_bach and Cardigan, along with work by eight other artists. There are some other great galleries in Cardigan to visit too:
