I offer experienced, insightful and creative support for your art and for your art business.
In your art or your art business, there are times when a friendly experienced person to talk things through with can be invaluable.
That's where I come in. For many years I have been a commercially and creatively successful artist, running an award-winning art business, as well as writing books and holding regular painting and artist development (business) workshops.
If you're an emerging artist, thinking of launching your art business, or maybe you are a more experienced artist wanting the take the next big step - I can help. I know that it can be tricky to figure it out all on your own, so let me help.
There's so much to being a successful artist and entrepreneur. So much to work out, try out, decide on and it's all time consuming and takes away from painting time!
Websites, social media, gallery representation, prints, licensing, selling, hosting a show..... to name a few. Over many years I have hands-on experience of all aspects of being a successful artist. I can help, and moreover I love to help.
Sessions are individually planned to suit your requirements.
Book a date and time below, and let's get together, via zoom, for an individual session of assessing, brainstorming, troubleshooting, next-step planning all about your art, or art your business.
I look forward to helping you succeed.
'Booking myself a spot was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Helen is not only an accomplished artist but she is a natural teacher and an excellent mentor. Her guidance and honest advice, both with my artwork and in beginning my new career as an artist, are invaluable. I cannot recommend highly enough!'
Kerry Shearer, professional artist
"I lacked confidence to start my own project and initially worried I would not be able to keep up - this soon dissipated. I enjoyed being able to plan and draft an interesting landscape I learned so much and Helen put me completely at my ease. I was very happy with Helen’s advice and suggestions throughout. It was intense but extremely enjoyable. I will come back for more!"
Wilma Thomas, art student
How will the sessions be held?
Once you've booked a time, you will receive a link to a Zoom meeting.
Zoom is easy to use and allows us to see each other as we would, in a conversation IRL (in real life ....).
It's also recordable on your laptop or PC.
Will I have a recording to refer back to?
If you join from a computer you can record the call so you can watch or listen to it again. I'll let you know how this can be done at the start of our meeting.
What will we talk about?
It's your time so we will talk about whatever you like!
It's helpful if you have and idea about what's important for you at present, but don't worry if it seems like everything is! I can help you get to what's important in your business and your art.
What's a priority for you?
This could be anything from creative feedback - a review of your work and very constructive support to move it to the next level, and / or discussing your business; how to start an email list, starting or boosting your social media, establishing a website, selling online, getting prints done licensing products, working with galleries, undertaking commissions, exhibiting your work.
Gaining focus and insight into your current options and establishing a workable plan so you leave with a clear idea of your next steps to strengthen your creative approach - to your art and/or your business is the purpose of our meeting.
Does it matter what stage of my art career or art business I am at?
There's always so much to learn to discuss, to develop.
And there is so much information available. In sessions with me I will be able to focus directly on what will be helpful to you, where you are. If you're an emerging artist and want to take your work to the next level; or launch your art career - fabulous (and exciting) come pick my brains, and share my skills. If you are already established and just need to brainstorm, that's so good! two heads are better than one.
